After completing the training program, students become eligible to take the Colorado State Nurse Aide Exam, which is required for CNA certification. The exam is designed to assess both your understanding of patient care concepts and your ability to perform essential caregiving tasks. It consists of two separate parts that evaluate knowledge and practical skills.

The exam includes the following components:

  • Written Examination – Evaluates your knowledge of key nursing assistant concepts, patient care practices, and safety procedures.
  • Skills Evaluation – Requires you to demonstrate several essential CNA skills in a supervised practical assessment.

Please note that the fee for the Colorado State Nurse Aide Exam is not included in the program cost.

Colorado Nurse Aide Registry

After successfully passing both the written exam and skills evaluation, and meeting all required state qualifications, you may be added to the Colorado Nurse Aide Registry. Being listed in the registry confirms that you are certified to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state.

Steps toward placement in the registry include:

  • Successfully completing the CNA training program
  • Passing both parts of the Colorado State Nurse Aide Exam
  • Meeting the additional requirements set by the state

Once your name appears in the registry, you are eligible to pursue employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
